Fire Curtain Systems

From the first fire curtains over a century ago, the J.R. Clancy name has been the leader in fire safety. We continue to offer a wide range of fire curtain systems and configurations including motorized systems, straight lift, and brail curtains, and all the accessories to make your curtain reliable, safe, and easy to use.

Fire Curtains and Borders – Our fire curtains provide a fire-rated barrier between the stage and auditorium, as required by the International Building Code (IBC) and other building codes. We provide brail or straight lift styles to suit your stage architecture. Zetex® Borders are used to help protect stage curtains and scenery from heat from theatrical lighting fixtures.  

Fire Curtain Hoists - The J.R. Clancy Motorized Fire Curtain Hoist utilized integral speed regulation to raise and lower fire curtains up to 1,100 lb (499 kg) and maximum travel up to 30’ (9.14 m).  Our Fire Curtain Line Shaft Hoist is designed for simple, convenient operation of large fire curtains up to 1,400 lb (635 kg) and is compatible with J.R. Clancy Push Button Controls.  The Traction Drive Hoist is used to motorize counterweight framed fire curtains and this hoist contains a hydraulic speed regulator coupled to the motor shaft to control the descent of the curtain.
