Guide Systems

A guide system is the portion of the counterweight system that contains the arbors and keeps them moving smoothly. Our aluminum and traditional steel guide systems are easy to install and simple to reconfigure to meet unexpected site conditions. Strip lights illuminate the locking rail, fly and loading galleries with minimal light bleeding. Typically, the guides are spaced every 6” (152.4mm) or 8” (203.2mm), but custom spacings are available if needed.

J-Guide™ System – The J-Guide™ System is a lightweight aluminum guide system for counterweight arbors. The adjustable wall knees allow simple, on-site adjustment to meet field conditions and this system averages 40% less time to install than steel T-bar.

T-Bar Systems – The T-Bar Guide System utilizes steel guides and was the industry standard for decades. Aluminum guides are faster to install but we maintain our supply of T-Bar to support older systems and for projects that require this design.

A-Guide™ System – A-Guide™ is a durable, heavy-duty aluminum guide system for systems that require additional guide strength, such as those is seismic zones. The A-Guide’s streamlined design takes less time to install and its adjustable wall knees allow simple, on-site alterations to meet field conditions.

Lattice Track - Lattice Track systems are used individual counterweight sets such as act curtains and fire curtains and typically mounted to the downstage proscenium wall or upstage wall.

Wire Guide Systems – Wire guided systems are a great option for theatres with a low ceiling height. Wire guide systems are cost effective and can be up to 35’ tall.

Outrigger Bracket – Outriggers brackets are used to support outrigger battens in front of the T-Bar wall. These brackets typically attach to J-Guide (T-Guide) wall battens for enhanced stability.

Index Lights – J.R. Clancy Index Lights are used to light the locking rail, fly and loading galleries, with minimal light bleeding. To provide even light distribution, these Index Lights are designed with a black exterior and white interior.
